Roles and Responsibilities

The Summer Camp Intern is responsible for supporting Camp Counselors and
assisting the Camp Director in planning, leading, and implementing enriching programs
and experiences for children in a small group setting. They will also be responsible for
the general safety and development, growth, and skill achievement of the participants in
his/her group.

Tasks may include but are not limited to:

● Assist with preparing weekly camp materials and activity supplies
● Assist with inventory of supplies and restocking
● Support counselors during crafts, STEM challenges, and games
● Encourage participation and positive camper interactions
● Help supervise campers during transitions, lunch, and free play
● Provide support to campers who may need extra help with activities
● Help with camper check-in and check-out
● Assist with organizing registration lists and attendance
● Help track daily camper attendance
● Prepare materials for upcoming camps
● Assist with camp setup and cleanup each day
● Help maintain organized activity spaces
● Assist the Camp Director with daily logistics
● Assist with camp evaluation surveys
● Help photograph camps for marketing/social media (with permission)
● Organize camp supply inventory system

Requirements:

● Junior, senior, or recent graduate in Education or related undergraduate program
or graduate student in Education, Museum Studies, or related field
● Interest in working with both children and adults in a museum environment
● Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills
● Ability to take direction and work in a team environment
● Ability to independently complete tasks
● Detail-oriented and organized
● Enjoys working in an animated and multi-faceted environment
● Background check required

Schedule:

● 35-40 hours a week, 8:30am – 4:30pm, Monday – Friday,
● $15 per hour
● Camps run June – August with Mid-May employment start date
