About Your Party
Thank you for booking your Birthday Party at the Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum.
Here are some things you need to know.
The party includes the Discovery Museum, a private party room, all paper goods. Set up and clean up are provided in your party room.
It’s the best deal around!
You may arrive 15 minutes early.
You may bring any kind of food you wish. We’ve had everything from sandwiches to quiche.
There is a refrigerator and a microwave available.
All food and drink stays in the party room. No exceptions, even for adults.
At the end of the party, please don’t let well meaning helpers pack up the museum’s utensils and such. They are labeled.
Balloons are allowed but as they are a choking hazard, they are not allowed on the museum floor and must remain in the party room. If given to the children, it must be upon their leaving the museum. If a balloon breaks, you must find and dispose of all the pieces.
Goody Bags are allowed but they must be given to the children as parting gifts or, if parents are present you may give them to mom or dad. The reason is that when given to the children, they get strewn all over the museum, they get lost, kids are crying because they can’t find them and on and on. You know what we mean.
Unless they are the pull string kind, pinatas are discouraged. The hitting kind are dangerous. If using a pull string pinata, all the candy must be put in the children’s goody bags for when they leave. The museum is a major ‘no choking’ zone, so children are not allowed to eat and play at the same time. Lollipops and the sticks are especially dangerous for playing kids.
If you have any other questions please call the museum at 540-722-2020 and ask for Mr. Mark.
